Omelette

I am still feeling a little overwhelmed with pleasure by the bounty of having chickens in the back yard. They are so cute and lovable, and the eggs.....words cannot do them justice :-)

Double yolker again.

Which came first? A tale of 2 chicks.

I wanted some chickens...
I sent my minions out into the world.

evidence that if you want something badly enough, someone will provide!
I was happy :-)

Babs (the small Pekin) and Woosywoo settled into their new home (after it was made clear to me that they could no longer live in the house).
The girls grew and we put a second story on the chick house.

Free rangin'

They started to say 'Thanks for giving us a home'.
Backyard farm goodness.
the first 3 eggs Woosywoo laid were double yolkers. What a girl!
Yum :-)

We love our chickens <3

Some shelves of my life...

A recent visitor to my house commented that 'nothing matches'. I had to acknowledge that this was true, indeed that things matching hasn't been a guiding principle when building my environment.

I have come to realise over time that I am attracted to objects from the late 1970s and early 80s. I am not sure where this comes from, except that I was a young adult at that time and at the first time in my life had some control over and interest in the things I lived with.  There are also some aspects of living itself that has not changed since the 70s. For instance I have never used tea bags, always leaves and a pot.
Many of the items in these pictures have been sourced in 'op' shops! Best way to shop :-)

1970's?

The pottery container actually harks from the 50s in England, it originally contained marmalade.

These really are my cups and glasses! There is no other cupboard with a neater, more orderly store of  this stuff.
